Our Independence. Your Advantage.

APCIA 2019 | Holborn’s Commitment to Clients

The Holborn team is fresh off the 2019 APCIA Annual Meeting in Boston, where many productive meetings were held with clients and prospective clients over the three days.  This year’s meeting once again proved an important opportunity to distinguish the independence of Holborn from its larger competitors in a consolidating market.

Our CEO, Frank Harrison, noted that “The dynamics in the marketplace are constantly changing, and this year is no exception. Each of our clients operate in the same marketplace, yet each has unique needs and opportunities. The APCIA meeting was the perfect backdrop for our clients and their respective Holborn broker teams to discuss marketplace opportunities and challenges with their reinsurance partners. These meetings help form the hallmark of the long-term relationships we strive for.”

Underscoring the remarks of Mr. Harrison, our President, Adam Manus, noted that “The APCIA meeting represents an annual opportunity for our clients and their reinsurance partners to meet and discuss issues specific to their businesses and our industry.  The face-to-face meetings reinforce the long-term relationship building that is the backbone of Holborn’s business model.”

The message remains clear, Holborn is a firm with a visceral commitment to independence and a pure alignment of interests with its clients.   These themes were evident in the Intelligent Insurer’s APCIA Today interview with our Chief Production Officer, Berto Sciolla.  As Mr. Sciolla states, “There is no cookie-cutter approach to how we serve our clients.  Each client has its own business challenges and needs, and our partnership-based business model ensures that we tailor reinsurance solutions to meet their unique requirements.”

Additionally, Intelligent Insurer’s APCIA Today interview with Holborn’s Peter Beckman illustrated the firm’s focus on recruiting talent, particularly at the more junior levels, and ensuring that this next generation is properly integrated into the cultural values of the firm.  As Mr. Beckman states, “There is no doubt that Holborn is committed to attracting and training top-drawer talent.  People, and the client relationships that they build, are everything in this business.”
