Executive Vice President & Chief Production Officer

Berto Sciolla serves as Holborn’s Executive Vice President and Chief Production Officer. His responsibilities focus on Client Account Management, New Business Development, Talent Management, and the firm’s operational excellence.

He joined Holborn in 2019 from General Reinsurance Corporation (Gen Re), where, over his career, he held a variety of domestic and international leadership roles, including President and CEO of Gen Re Intermediaries from 2004-2008, and Head of North American Treaty from 2008-2018. Over his time in leadership at Gen Re, he was instrumental in building the firm’s long and short-term strategy, including strategies for business development, multi-channel distribution, diversification, merger and acquisitions, integration, and brand management. From 1993-1996, Berto was the General Manager of General Re Underwriting Services Ltd. (The Underwriting Manager for Tempest Re).
