Art Dougherty joined Holborn in 2011 as Senior Vice President, and is based in the firm’s New York City office.

He began his career in the management training program at American Re in 1979. He then moved to Sten-Re, Cole, a firm which ultimately became Aon Re, where he served for 20 years. Mr. Dougherty joined Benfield in 2001 as a senior vice president, where he was responsible for production, management, and placement of treaty reinsurance, with particular emphasis on specialty casualty business. In 2007, he joined U.S. RE Corporation as a senior vice president, and managed the U.S. domestic production and placement of treaty reinsurance, and focused on property catastrophe business arising from the Gulf States.

Mr. Dougherty graduated from St. John’s University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
