Atlantic sea-surface temperatures continue to cool, as eighty degree waters are now reduced to the coastlines south of Houston and Daytona Beach. Sea-surface temperatures north of North Carolina have now cooled below the threshold that is known to support hurricane activity.
The National Hurricane Center is presently tracking a tropical disturbance in the southern Gulf of Mexico, which has the potential to organize as a tropical storm later this week.
There are no significant threats to U.S. coastlines. Holborn’s final scheduled Tropical Weather Update will be on November 1st.
